Around 25,000 households in Queensland's southeast found themselves lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the area, producing wind gusts reaching over 100 km/h.

Locals witnessed large ice chunks reaching sizes of seven centimeters in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Rescue organizations responded to 598 calls for help across the region, primarily for structural issues but also for fallen timber and inundation.

Health officials cautioned that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, particularly given the current weather patterns.
