A defense minister has stated that the Ministry of Defence is actively investigating the potential security risks posed by Chinese-made vehicles, and personnel have been told to refrain from talking about secret information in all vehicles.
Security Advice for Defence Personnel
In a recent interview on a radio station, Luke Pollard commented on claims that MoD staff have been told not to discuss classified information while travelling in China-made vehicles.
He stated that the ministry is “examining” Chinese vehicles within its vehicle pools, but noted that security is a issue in all contemporary vehicles.
Our department has a fleet of thousands of cars in the MoD and those vehicles account for a tiny fraction.

When it was put to him that it would be wise for the ministry to cease using every Chinese vehicles, Pollard replied: That is exactly what we are looking into at the moment.”

This revelation comes as reports from Scandinavian countries have warned the UK to the presence of multi-purpose shutdown mechanisms in Chinese electric buses, which could enable the Chinese government to disable buses and cause chaos to transport systems.
Furthermore, a Russian intelligence vessel has been directing laser beams at Royal Air Force aircrew, labeled a “highly dangerous” act by defence officials.
