JuJutsu Kaisen: Execution is not entirely an original movie. Instead, the latest cinematic release from the Jujutsu Kaisen action franchise acts as a recap of the anime's second season stitched together with the initial episodes of its next season, which begins the Culling Games storyline from the manga series. This positions Execution, which has been given a new trailer, the earliest way to see the beginning of the next season ahead of its January 2026 premiere. The feature launches in Japanese theaters on November 7, and in North American regions on December 5.

The Culling Games Storyline

In the Culling Games storyline, Special Grade sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu finally joins the television series and is tasked by jujutsu higher-ups to take down his peer Yuji Itadori. Their highly anticipated battle unfolds for the initial time on the silver screen, and if the animators at Mappa have something as special as episodes 40 and 41 waiting in the wings for audiences this festive season, JuJutsu Kaisen: Execution may turn out to be the surprise that fans have anticipated.

The "Thunderclap" Controversy

"Thunderclap" from season 2 is frequently praised as among the best moments in animated series lore, notwithstanding the major issues in last year when the series first premiered.
